fAMOUS FOOD AMBASSADOR SUPPORTS sca AWARDS

One of Scotland’s foremost cook and food writers has confirmed her support for the country’s most prestigious rural business awards which recognise entrepreneurship, good food produce and service to community.

Lady Claire Macdonald, renowned internationally for her cooking and being a champion of local produce, believes the Scottish Countryside Alliance Awards highlight some of the best aspects of rural Scotland.

She offered some words of encouragement for the people and businesses being nominated: “It is quite wonderful that you have been recognised as you have, and by the very body which stands for all things good regarding the countryside and the food produced there. And all credit to the Scottish Countryside Alliance for organising such an awards event. All of us who work so hard deserve and need such recognition.”

Ross Montague, director of the Scottish Countryside Alliance, said: “We are very grateful for the support of someone like Lady Claire who has done so much for Scottish food and the countryside. The nominations for the SCA Awards are made by members of the public so they represent genuine recognition of the excellent business and community stories to be found right across the country.

“It will be an extremely tough task for the judges to eventually select the winners and this reflects well on the state of rural businesses in Scotland.”
