On Tuesday 6th November the Western Mail's Country & Farming supplement published a piece by Countryside Alliance Chief Executive Simon Hart on Wales' shortlists. Read "Retailers gear up for rural awards " in which Simon says: "The support communities have for their retailers, and vice versa, has never been more apparent. There is a huge appetite for community spirit and the opportunity to give public thanks to the people who are working to ensure rural life can thrive."
On 19th October the Cumberland News published an article entitled "Keep rural shops alive" which reports that "Last year three out of four of the Countryside Alliance’s ‘Best NW Rural Retailers’ were in the county." Read the piece here .
