Being a Best Rural Retailer is both good for the soul and good for business!

"Alexander James of Pendlebury, the traditional country and equestrian outfitters, has doubled the size of its shop as a result of being crowned Best Rural Retailer earlier in the year.  The new shop has doubled space available for visitors and is now stocking a range of accessories including stocks, socks, gloves and shirts.  The thinking behind the expansion is to offer customers a more complete service."

On Tuesday 6th November the Western Mail's Country & Farming supplement published a piece by Countryside Alliance Chief Executive Simon Hart on Wales' shortlists. Read "Retailers gear up for rural awards " in which Simon says: "The support communities have for their retailers, and vice versa, has never been more apparent. There is a huge appetite for community spirit and the opportunity to give public thanks to the people who are working to ensure rural life can thrive."
