Business is booming for our Best Rural Retailers Print E-mail

The Countryside Alliance’s 2006 Best Rural Retailer competition is now in full swing, with over 400 nominations already received, a massive increase on this time last year.

The competition, which honours the vital role rural retailers play in their local communities, is open to nominations here at www.bestruralretailer.co.uk until the end of October.

Nominations are being welcomed in four categories, showcasing the diversity of rural business:

1. Best Local Food Retailer
2. Best Village Shop/ Post Office
3. Best Diversification
4. Daily Telegraph Best Traditional Business

Best Rural Retailer organiser Jill Grieve, commented: “Nominations are coming in thick and fast, but I know for a fact that there are many, many more local retailers who are going the extra mile for their community and deserve recognition. If you haven’t yet nominated, you still have time – please don’t leave it too late – local pride is at stake.”
